Ash Rise celebrates the beauty, versatility and history of the ash tree. An initiative of the Scottish Furniture Makers Association, the exhibition brought together contemporary makers, craftspeople and artists to make new works from ash trees felled as affected by ash dieback at Killearn Home Farm in Stirlingshire.
Ash Rise opened at John Hope Gateway, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in autumn 2022 and has since toured to Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries; Inverness Museum and Art Gallery; Benmore Botanic Garden and is currently on show at the National Trust for Scotland’s Drum Castle in Aberdeenshire.
