doggerfisher is delighted to present a solo show of new work by the Glasgow-based artist Neil Clements.

Clement’s practice works to establish alternative readings of a legacy of formalist art production, analysing the sentimentality with which we treat this legacy and in turn the lost radicalism. Clements’ interest is in a period where the production of the art object was shifted beyond traditional methods in order to aid the development of a new formalist vocabulary.

Neil Clements (born 1982, Northern Ireland) studied at Glasgow School of Art. Recent exhibitions include Dundee Contemporary Arts; Black Aspirin with Alex Dordoy, Glasgow Project Space; Neil Clements / Morag Keil / Alex Dordoy, Grimm Fine Art, Amsterdam Group, with Claire Barclay / Sara Barker / Sally Osborn / Jonathan Owen / Albrecht Schäfer, doggerfisher, Edinburgh (all 2008).
